New Brighton.- Dec. 3rd: Annual meeting; good attendance; Mrs. Flower presided. Reports of officers and superintendents were very heartening, showing that much ground had been covered during the past year. Mrs. H. M. Hall in the chair. Officers elected: President, Mrs. Flower; Secretary, Mrs. F. Mitchell ;Treasurer, Mrs. N. Fraser; Yrice-Presi-dents, Mesdames I). Edmonds, E. Ellis, R. R. Holloway and Gamble; Cradle Roll, Mesdames Brimmer and Carrington. All other sutierintendents were re-elected. Arrangements made for Cradle Roll Christmas party. Appreciation expressed to Mrs. Carrington for the wonderful work as Cradle Roll superintendent and great regret was expressed at her resignation. She has, however, promised to assist Mrs. Brimmer. Scientific Fact, Mrs. Edmonds. Literature distributed.

Riccarton.—Dec. 10th. Anrnal meeting. Attendance 27. Telegram sent u Prime Minister protesting against extension of wet canteens to all military camps. Secretary’s report showed good work being done in ail de-

partments. Four prizes presented at local school for Bible in schools. Supts. report steady progress. Cradle Roll 79. Mrs. Reeves sang. Programme to be provided for concert at reformatory. Donations sent for Christmas cheer for inmates. Gifts for patients in merftal hospital received. President asked members to patronise “Welcome Club” stall, and stressed the wonderful work done by this club in keeping many soldiers off the street on Saturday night. A lovely thought expressed by Miss Meharry, in the form of a vase of white lilies was placed on the table in memory of those members who have passed on to higher service, Ifrring and Buy stall realized £l/4/10. Mrs. Compton reported for September that 10 prs. socks, 3 caps and 3 balaclavas had been knitted and sent in to President’s Club for overseas forces. Mrs. Mcllraith reported on Provincial Convention. Silvester (Methodist Minister) took the chair for annual meeting, and gave a most interesting and helpful address. Officers elected and suj»erintendents for various departments. Re[>orted that Youth meeting held on Sunday. Mr. Clive Norton presided. Afterwards young jieople joined the soldiers at tea. “Death Rattle of the Nations” given to each soldier by one of the “Y“ boys. SOUTH CANTERBURY DISTRICT. Ashburton.— 1. Annual meeting. In May, 1942, another united meeting of women was held. Pastor More gave an address and officers were elected: Pres., Mrs. Tipler; Sec., Mrs. Wrightson; Treas., M rs. McKenzie; YY’.R. Agent, Mrs. McKay. Since then meetings have been held regularly and we are looking forward to a year of successful work in 1943. We wish the union a very fine year of w’ork. SOUTHLAND DISTRICT. South Invercargill.— Dec. 8. Annual meeting. Devotional talk by Mrs. Richards. Sympathy expressed with Miss Aitken in the passing of her sister. Annual reports and balancesheets given and considered satisfactory. Mr. YV. A. Ott thanked for auditing the accounts. Officers elected were the same as last year, with the addition of Mrs. Ingles to the SickY r isiting. Mrs. Reidy gave a helpful address on “Fear.” Speaker thanked.
