WOMEN ON JURIES.
Mrs. Dreaver, M l*, for Waitemata, last week moved for leave to introduce a Bill to provide* for the apjiointinent of women jurors. It provides that any women between the ages of 25 and 60 years of age and who has the qualifications for service set fortli in Juries Act, may apply to the sheriff in writing that she desire- to serve as a juror and her name will W* placed on the jury l.st. Mrs. Dreaver was allowed to introduce her Bill, but as Mr. Speaker ruled that it was an Xppropriation Bill and as these ! ill- cannot W* introduced by a private member, Mr-. Dreaver’s Bill was withdrawn. however, the Prime Minister stated that the Bill will W* introduced as a Government measure and .*o probably will become law.
