MRS. LATHAM Once again in our rank* thr W.C.T. Union mourns the loss of a loyal ami honoured worker m the per*< >ti of Mrs. H. I .atli am. who passed away early in Septembci after a brief illness Mrs. Latham wa' an ardent worshipper and worker in her church (St John's Anglican Church), at one time being Secretary for the Mothers* Union, a inemlier of the Indies’ Guild, and active and thoughtful among tlu S<*cial Committee. She was a foundation member of the S-uith branch W.GT.U., filling a period, up to the time of her death, a* a loyal member of 2.1 year*, «nd during that tunc was Treasurer, and White Kil»U»n agent in the i arlier years of the branch's history. In lale years, and to the end, she t<N*k over the control of the Southland V an<! Pa*toral Show tea mums on» tit. and gave *plendid service* in the tea rooms on Show hays. After quite a *hort dines* «hr passed into the Presence of the Led, and our sympathy goes to the sorrowing lm*ban«l and fatuily. MRS. BRASS. Mrs. Bra*s had lieen an active tiirinlnr of tlie Invercargill Central Union from her early youth. She had ex|*erir tired the j**> of Service for the Master and realised to the full the meaning of the words, “Blest Ik the tie that bind* our hearts in Christian love." We mourn her loss, hut we know that she rests from her labours. MRS McCHESNEY. Mr*. K. MrCHc*ney passed away on June ‘Mb, She wa* a foundation meml»er and wa* a faithful worker for her I ord and Master. She took a great interest in *he work of God and Home and Humanity. Our sympathy goes out to her iatnily in their loss.
MBS JANE BREMER We regret to announce the passing of an aged member, Mrs. Jane ivemer, nr* years of age, and a one-tunc I‘frgdent of our Union Mrs Bremer nad endeared herself for her sweet and lovable disposition; tin nigh an invalid for «.« line time past *he was always interested in our work and enjoyed reading our White Ribbon magazine. We feel her lo** greatly, and our sympathy g«K * I*4l l to the Iwreaved fa inly MRS. BALDEY. tiore Union ha* suffered a severe h»*s I»y the death of its Secretary, Mrs. Baldvv. Slu went into hospital for a quiet re*t, and her Midden death <« (KtoUr uth came as a *hock to all ter luved oiu' thi the evening of (Miner stli *lu wa* not so well, but would not fuar of her husband staying the night, hut when he went up next Morning n|h c mld not *peak. She knew him. U tked up and *nuled, and then she n<*t. f«»r <»«*d took her. < Mir deep sympathy goes out to Iter I nisi mud and family in their gnat lot*. MRS. LOIS FLY. Mrs. Margaret 1-ois Fly, who pa**ed away on October 4th in Auckland, was President of the l*a|wtoetoc Branch during tins year. Mrs. Fly had liecn a roost vincere, consistent Chri*tiaii worker h r iiuny years, her efforts on ltehalf of the Briti*h and Foreign Bible Society being often mentioned. Her devotion to her Church and W.C.T.U, ha* lieen remarkable at her A most ardent lover of dowers, *lie t«M>k much pleasure in supplying the table and visiting speakers at each uniting with an abundance of flowers picked from her own beautiful garden She will lie *adly missed from her work, hut our loss is her gain ( >tr *incrre sympathy is e*triid«*d t« Vr Fly, who will m*ss the loved one roni hi* borne so much.
