A very old member of Wellington Union has been called to higher service. Mrs. Cummings was a sister of the late Mrs. Johnston Wright and was ever an earnest woiker for the W.C.T.U. We offer our sincerest sympathy to her daughters, Miss Cummings and .Mrs. Hoare, now of Wanganui.
.Mil*. (OKNKII. Mrs. Corner, for many years secretary of the Petoue W.C.T U., has passed on, and will be much missed by tier Union. Her interest was iaso to the last, and the last district ixecutive meeting she was with us. To her family we seiid the sincere sympathy of all White Rihhoners.
Mil*, s ll( \II INN GKKKNUOOH. Aged HI years, passed to the higher life in June, 1939, while oil a vn.lt to friends at Hastings. She joined Pet one Union about 21* yea .* ag-, and was a very active worker for the Temperance cause, and her old friends have pleasant menu ries ot happy afternoons held in her homo at Islington Street, Petoue. On one occasion she, with Mrs. Jones, carrying a banner be(weon them, headed a procession along Jackson Street, in a demonstration against the Liquor Traffic. We extend to those left to mourn our loving sympathy. and say with the words of our Lord, “Well done, thou good and faithful servant, enter thou into the joy of thy rest.”
