Dear White Ribbon Sisters,
1 have been appointed once again year Horn. Supt. Work Among Seamen. This is the D*th year. I feel I would like to thank you for all you have done to help us In our good work at our two Sailors' Rests; it lias Just been wnnuerful. I have been wondering, after seeing o ir Report and Balance Sheet for the year. If you would be thinking we did not need your help. I would just like to te|| you that both the Special and Gen. Fund was collected at the time the Rest was built; the Special Is kept in reserve for raptlm and refurntahlnga. The Gei . ► und Is to carry on paying expenses and upkeep of same and entertaining free of charge. The gifts (J comfort hags, scarves and socks, etc., and the donations you send are always spent on AHlng the bags; they are nice little gifts for our seamen at Christinas time, or as near an possible. We always tell the meii as near as possible the Cnion that send them, and they are much appreciated hy the men. I just ask y<Mi once again If you would continue in this good work; even In some of the out-of-the-way branches it is a nice winter pastime knitting a scarf or pair of socks. com fort bag to hold writing material, magazine, mending wool, needles, or little holdalls, etc. 1 would advise not to All the hags, just sene' them empty, and if anyone would like to help to All them they could send a few stamps for same. No work could In* better than this. It all helps so much for world peace for the men who guard our shores, and keep our country going.
