METHODS DEPARTMENT

Dear Sisters, — Once again 1 have lieen appointed Superintendent for the “Method-*” Department, and 1 am so anxious that something big shall lie done Ihis year, by carrying out new plans of work, and

Making the meetings inoie attractive

I received a letter from Dr. Ella Boole and she writes that the next thing we ran do together is to observe Mothers’ Day on May 15th. She says let the W.C.T.U. keep the day as it was intended, one in which mothers are honoured .Mid motherhood extolled. Let us avoid commercialising the da> and resist all attempts to divert it from its original purpose.

A Mothers’ Day article in our nation 1 paper, a radio broadcast, a Mothers’ Day leaflet, and a special Mothers’ I >ay mes sage from our Presidents, in which th observance of tin* day in the home h urged, are some of the ways in which ve can promote the observance of Mothers’ Day, writes our World’s President.

Mrs. Boole says there are many angles to our work, and our departments. and our methods of approach.

Our countries differ: even our season* are different. We cannot all do the same things at the same time, but we can pray together, we can work together. *ve can promote our great cause together. Don’t forget, sisters, that May is the month we concentrate on doing something special with regard to the I’ea’f Department. Some Unions arrange a meeting and have a jpeaker: there at ' many ways we can bring the subject before the public. I do hope every Union will try to form i study group and by that means get to know’ our w’ork lietter and thus do more effective work for Christian Temperance.
