IN MEMORIAM.

MKS lIRIGHTING. KAIAI’OI. We are sorry to report the loss of Mrs Prighting. of the Kaiapoi W.C.T.11., w ho was one of the foundation members of the Union, which was formed in 1890 by Mrs Colonel Packe. At different times Mrs Prighting held the position of President, and in man> ways was a most devoted worker. Her personality was always felt when she came into a room, and we could always depend on her advice in every matter pertaining to our work. Mrs Prighting was always interested in young people’s interests, and the Hand of Hope was also much in her thoughts. Mrs Prighting spent most of her life in Kaiapoi, and is survived by four daughters and two sons, who have our heartfelt sympathy in their loss. MRS PECKE MARTON. Mrs Decks has been such a faithful member of our W.C.T.U. since we started again, was our Treasurer and pianist all that time, and had just accepted the position of President. She had only taken one meeting w hen she took ill. was in hospital just one week, and passed away. She attended the last Convention in Auckland, and came hack more Inspired than ever to do her best for th* W.C.T.U. She also often sang for us, and I used to admire the beautiful words she always chose. She has left behind a very fragrant memory, and it is a great loss to our W.C.T.U. and our church, where she was always a faithful worker, but more than all to her husband. two girls and five boys.
