CONVENTION FOR 1935.
Already plans are being formed for a record Convention next year. At a Dominion Officers’ meeting held recently the following suggestions were adopted. Will District Executives and local Cnions do their l>est to r* in cioryia* out these plans? Next year will tie our Poll year, and special emphasis will )** given to temperance work and plans to educate voters for the next referendum on the Liquor Question. First, to educate ourselves and to perfect our own organisation that it mov form a fitting medicine for educating others. Special subjects have been arranged for group and session discussion. 1. Talk on our Constitution, led by M iss Henderson. Bring along your questions and let them' be discussed. 2. Model Meeting Social to arrange for opening of Temperance Compaign. Suggestions welcomed. 3. Treasurers’ “Round Table" conducted by Miss Lovell-Smith. 4. L.T.L. Round Table, leader, Mrs. Bathgate. 5. Departmental Work, leader, Mrs Peryman. Will districts discuss plans of work and send along suggestions for good Temperance Campaign. Districts are asked to tie prepared to lead well known choruses when called upon. Each district make a selection of such choruses and get all its Cnions to practise them so that the District delegation can lead a good chorus when called upon. A good Convention song is urgently needed. It hits t»een decided to ask Cnions to send in original songs. Words must be original, but music may lie original or adapted. It has been resolved to hold a short Memorial Service in memory of nu mbers who have passed to higher service during the year.
