HENRY FORD ON PROHIBITION.
Henry Fora is quoted as believing that Prohibition will become worldwide. in a letter written by Mr Ford’s General Secretary to the Editor of the Manufacturers’ Records. The quotation is as follows: “I am enclosing herewith a leaflet which contains an expression from Mr Ford on the subject of Prohibition. In addition to this, he has requested me to say, that our men are very much better off since prohibition, as our records indicate that their attendance is more regular, their savings have increased, and property ownership has greatly advanced. With the law at the back of us. and with Government co-operation, we have no difficulty in enforcing prohibition among our own men, and, if all employers w r ould take It upon themselves to do likewise, w r e are sure that burdens of enforcement would be greatly lightened.” The following quotation from Mr Ford was enclosed in the letter: “Prohibition is a fine thing. I believe it will become world-wMde. Alcohol destroys the brain cells and lowvrs a man's efficiency. 1 believe that industrial competition will force prohibition upon the w’hole world.”“Christian Science Monitor.”
