DISTRICT PRESIDENT ON TOUR.
A round of visits has just been paid to our Maori Branches by the South Auckland President. Mrs .1. M. Jones. Te Awamutu visited July 14th, Mis Ropate occupying chair. Helpful address given, and work discussed. The Union has lost six members through movalsFrankton Union addressed July 26th. Mrs Whatu presided. Recitation by Mrs Bradley. Arranged to hold concert later to raise funds. Kaharoa, 25 miles out. visited with Sister Nichols on July 29th. Bitteriy cold, wet day, consequently few attended. Rost one member here through an epidemic of typhoid, when three died. Home brewing and drinking in NoTiicense area. Live worker badly needl'd for these outlying districts. On August 10th a car load from Frankton Union, including the District President and S‘ster Nichols, drove to What a Whatß. Five members of Union leaving, also Mrs Kingi. Secretary Frankton. Resignation received with regret, and Mrs Kingi thanked foi past services, and urged to continue meetings in Taranaki, where they will reside. Addresses by District President, Sister Nichols, and recitation by Mrs Rradley. Two baby boys were Initiated with ceremony into Cradle Roll membership. Maori leaflets distributed nt meeting
