NEW BRIGHTON. Apr. 8. There was a good rally of members at the quarterly Social, held April 8 th. An enjoyable eveninK was spent in competitions, Karnes, etc., and slipper was served. KOHIMARAM A. Apr 29. MeetinK was held to consider forming a Y. Branch of the W.C.T.U. Mrs Kasper was In the chair. Decided to form a Y. Branch. All the officers were nominated. May 6. A meeting was held to form a Brunch of the Y.P.C.T.U. Mrs Benfell, the District President, presided. Thirteen were initiated. The following Officers were elected:—President, Miss L. Simpson; VicePresident, Miss E. Andrew; Corresponding Secretary, Miss B. Thompson; Recording Secretary, Miss M. McLeod; Treasurer, Miss M. Clariadge; Floral and Sick Visiting Superintendent. Miss M. Taylor; Cradle lull supt.. Miss ft. Clark; White Ribbon Agent, Miss A. Thompson. INVERCARGILL. May 1. A very good attendance of the ”Y’s.’* to welcome their new Organiser, Miss McLay. The President opened the meeting with a hymn, after which Mrs James read a short Bible reading, which was followed by a prayer. The Street I >ay which was supposed to have been held on the 30th of April, was posti>oned until the 21st of May, owing to Plunket Day falling on 30th April. Miss Birss then gave a very interesting account of Convention. Miss McLay was then welcomed to our meeting, ami gave us an address on the work that she lots been doing, and also about the Two-Issue Ballot. I am sure the members enjoyed the address very much. Miss McLay then had the honour <»f welcoming a new member. Another meeting taking the form of a Social Evening, is to be held on 9th May'. The meeting closed with a repetition of the Pledge. AUCKLAND. May 5. Miss M. Pyle presided over a good attendance. Small love-gift handed to Mrs Lee-Cowie, who is shortly leaving us for a time. On their departure, the Misses K and A. McLay were presented with scarves, as tokens of appreciation of services rendered. Mrs Andrews reported—at last Y. Jumble Sale, Gross proceeds. f2O; nett proceeds, flB odd. 15 handed to Mrs Andrews for Ponsonby’ Cradle Roll work. Alliance Convention delegates elected. Miss Appleby appointed “White Ribbon” Agent. After musical renderings, and addresses by Mrs Lee-Cowie and several members, supper was served. K*our new members initiated. A very’ pleasant and profitable evening closed with Benediction.
