HEADQUARTERS.

What is a Headquarters? Why, a home, of course. For 42 years our Dominion Union has been and still is homeless. We have started to save up for a home, and have about £9OO in hand. Now there is the prospect that a fine, new up-to-date and most suitable building may be obtainable. The Executive officers are most anxious that we should be able to secure such a suitable building. But it will need a large sum to be raised. An appeal is to be made to our Unions to ask that they send their delegates to Convention with suggestions as to what Unions can do to help in this matter. The need is urgent. We should have a home where all our literature could be kept, and where eventually all our activities oould be centred. Now please don't think this is a difficult matter. It only wants the hearty co-operation of every Union

and every officer, and it would be an accomplished fact. Please remember Headquarters, plan for it, pray for it, think alout it, tuik about it, interest others in it, and come to Convention full of faith and ready to do great works. WOMEN JUSTICES. At last, after years of waiting, the Government has appointed Women Justices of the Ueace. We congrutu late the Minister upon the appointments made. The choice is excellent, and we venture to say not many lists of male Justices have been so very suitable. The different women's societies are well represented, and all are women who have done social work of a high order. The W.C.T.U. has provided several women who will perform their duties with ability, fairness, justice, and dignity. Mrs Taylor, our Dominion President, is one; also Mrs McCombs, President of Sumner W.C.T.U., and an ex-I>ominicn officer; Miss Kirk. President of Wellington Central, who is also Secretary of the Society for the ITotection of Women and Children; Mis MoVicar and Mrs Herbert are both White Ribbon era, and Mrs la»ech Secretary of League of Nations Union, has been a frequent speaker at our I>omirion Conventions. Mrs Corliss and Mrs Fraser are both social workers, and I>r. Hilda Northcroft is a member of Women’s National Council. We are glad to get this reform in our Department of Justice, and trust soon to have Women Police and Women Jurors.
