“HOW DISGUSTING."
We have received letters in regard to a Press Assn, telegram published re a discussion in Convention. A reporter was present when the discussion was opened, but as Convention immediately went into Committee he withdrew. His fertile imagination was responsible for the “newspaper” facts published all over the Dominion. The display complained of was neither lingerie nor corsets, nor any wearing apparel, but articles used and randy spoken about. The advertisemei t complained of was withdrawn after the second day, and several gentlemen sent It to our Editor and demanded indignantly why you women don’t stop that kind of thing.
We can only regret that such journalistic methods should be used by any newspaper in our Dominion. Mrs Don interviewed the Editor of the paper in which the paragraph first appeared. He expressed regret at the mistake, and that reporter came no more to Convention. We give this exnlanation as many of our members are evidently perturbed in mind over the incident.
