Another of Canterbury’s early color ists passed away in the person of M Chas. Brown, who died oil Wednesday 16th last., at his lute residence, 6U Tor rens Raul, after a brief illness. The late* Mr Brown, who is survive by his widow, four daughters and sever soils, arrived in Lyttelton with hi; parents by the "British Crown" in 1\63 Excellent pioneering qualities. hacke-< by rare physical strength, made* him most valuable colonist. -Mr and Mis Brown joined the "B| Ul Ribbon' Army immediately it was e.tablished in Christchurch, and trains their family (Wisely and well, Mrs Brown, daughters, and some daughter-in-law being well know*n in our W.f T.C. For forty years Mr and Mr. Brown we re honoured members of ti.* S prey don Baptist Church, where an mt pnssivr memorial service was held or Sunday morning.
