EARLY Y WORK IN OUR DOMINION.
The first V Orgmiiser In this Donun toil was Mi's Miller, then of Dunedin, but for years now resident at Auckland. Mrs Miller has written all account of her work to send to America, and from ♦aat report I cull the following for the benefit of our present Y’a. Mix Miller joined the W.P.T.U. dm(lk Mis Leavett’n meetings, and at once was appointed Superintendent of (•iris' Work for the l>unedln Union. She at once get into touch with Mis Karnes, Superintendent of Y Work for our World’s Cnion. w ho Kent her copies of the American Y Constitution and Mye-laws, various helpful )>ooks. ami a i liookmurk. on which was (tainted the Oak. This our Y’s adopted, with the addition of the New Zealand clematis, and the first banner hunt m our cooking department of the Dunedin exhibition. laist year Mrs Miller preaented the Auckland Y’s with a Imnner of white satin, with the urn flowers painted upon It, except that the clematis was replaced by a fern * af 1n memory of our soldier boys who are honorary members. Our present Dominion President was one of our first Y’s, and our representative to the World’s Convention next November is Miss Jean Hegg, one time President of the Dunedin Y’s. INVERCARGILL. Aug. 7. President in the chair. Reported that Cameron Home had ts*en visited the previous Saturday by a number of the members, anil after providing a sumptuous tea for the children, a very plea. Hunt social evening was spent amongst the little ones. The Prohibition literature is iieing distributed by several of our Y’s. The President then asked Sisti r Janet to speak, and her very able address gave much pleasure to all those who were privileged to heai it, fatter wh*ch supper was dispensed. Sept. 4. Reported that member* had been distruhuting more literature during the month. A visit from Mrs Me Kenzie, Vice-President of the Central Cnion. was much appreciated. It was decided that at every meeting we would repeat our pledge all together. The services of a onnvasser ,ue to be engaged to collect up subscriptions, etc.
