NOTABLE DAYS.

Supt.: Mrs X. Jones. Nine Branches- Auckland, Wanganui. Manaia, New Plymouth. Christchurch, Invercargill Y’s, Nelson, Ashburton, and Wellington—sent reports. Of these, thm-—Christchurch, Ashburton, and Invercargill Y’s- celebrated all the red 1< tter days. Three Unions celebrated three special days, and the remaind« r two and one respectively. Several successful home and drawing room meetings were held and suitable addresses given by ministers and others. Auckland held a large public meeting in the Y.W.C..V hall, at which Mb Lm Cowle, World’s Missionary, gave an address. At Manaia members gave five minutes speeches. New Plymouth was favoured with an address by the local Plunket nurse. At Christchurch. Miss Chaplin urged the necessity of getting women on Education Roards and othoi bodies. Dr. Platts Mills, at Wellington, drew attention to the many humanitarian Acts which had found their wa> to the Statute Rook since women wvre granted the privilege of votine. At Nelson reference was made to the Int< rnational Conference for the consideration of the question of disarmament. and special prayers were offered

up that leaders of the world might be given power and wisdom in their deliberations on the great problems. Collections were taken up for the various fun<ls. and three Unions —New Ply mouth. Manaia, and Ashburton —report new members enrolled at these meetings. Waipawa observed T. E. Taylor Day. Miss Earnshaw was with us, and spoke of T. E. Taylor's gresit work, and read a short sketch of his life and Work. Franchise Day: Special social meeting; large gathering of ladies; readings from Ms Lovell-Smith's )>ook. “Woman’s Franchise in New Zealand," and resume given of beneficial legislation since the granting of franchise to women in New Zealand. Frances Willard Pay: Special memorial readings given, and sketches of the lift of our beloved leader read by our members.
