TO ALL Y UNIONS IN NEW ZEALAND. Would tin* Secretary of each Union (Y) kindly send me the number of their paid-up members, also unpaid ones, number of subscribers to ‘‘White Ribbonn,” together with a report of work being undertaken or finished this year? Please state if any new members gained this year, stating plainly whether your I nion is progressing, together with the names and addresses jof all your officers, also dates of meeting. Young, Glenfoyle, Richmond Grove, Invercargill. INVERCARGILL. March 7. The Invercargill Y branch met on the 7th instant. An interesting paper was prepared by one of the members on the life of Frances Willard. A letter on the Bible in Schools question was received. It was reported that our two delegates had left for Convention. May 2. Attendance good. Mr Mactndoe gave a very interesting address on alcohol, comparing it with milk in its food value. Reported 17 new members, and an initiative service was held at the close of the meeting. April I. Enjoyable social evening, a large number present. The two delegates, Mrs Young and Miss R. Finlayson. who attended Convention, gave very interesting reports, and urged us to work harder this year. Mrs Young, I >ominion Y Superintendent, presented to Miss Mclndoe, our President, the Y banner, which we are pleased to have won again this year. Games, musical items, and competitions, as well as supper, brought us to good night. April 13. A concert, the proceeds of which go towards procuring an organ for Gladstone Home. We were indebted to the Mayor for being chairman, and to all the ladies and gentlemen who so ably furnished the programme. OXFORD. April 18. Good attendance. One new member enrolled. Decided to make winter garments and forward to Nurse Maude for distribution among the poor. Also hold our Annual Birthday Social on May 23rd, and charge admission. funds to go towards material to be made up. First meeting of Band of Hope and L.T.L. to be held the first Wednesday in May. Programme for each Band of Hope to be arranged by four different members of our Branch. NELSON April 22. A splendid meeting to start the year with, Hayes. VicePresident. took the eha’r. Miss Leigh read the Convention report, which we all found most interesting. The initia-

tion service wits then read, and we have fifteen new members. There will be some more at next meeting. Miss Sutherland was awarded the Star of Honour: she has brought more than the required number of new members. The officers for 1921 were elected as follows: Pres., Miss Sutherland, Washington Terrace; Vice-Pies., Miss Leigh, Nile Street West; Rec. Sec., Miss Knapp, Alfred Street; Cor. Sec., Miss Nock. Washington Terrace; “White Ribbon” representative, Miss D. Hay, 18 Totara Street; Treas. R. Hay, 18 Tolara Street. Owing to pressing duties. Miss C. Hayes is compelled to refuse all office, but will still help whenever possible. After the meeting we had supper and games. The Nelson “Y” branch is looking up, and we all hope for a useful year.
