The following donations to the Stead Memorial Fund are ac know ledged with thank-: Stratford I’nion, 1 j-; Waimate, n-; New Brighton, ss; New Plymouth, 7s. About 40wa- contributed by members of the Nelson I’nion, and inc luded in a small -urn collected and sent from Nelson some month- ago. Supporters and we’ll wi-hcr- of this fund will be interested to know that several hostels for we rkmg women have been opened in London and other English town-, and are working successfully, proving a great boon to many women and girls who would otherwi-e be* forced to live in cheap and undesirable lodginghouses, »\ here* they would be exposod to many temptations. Mrs Bendeley, X.Z. Treasurer, will be very glad to receive any further donations from the NZ. I'nion-.
