THE W.C.T.U. CREED.

I believe in n’ne-tenths of the members doing the work and onetenth criticising, instead of the reverse. I believe no woman has a right to accept an office or a place on anv committee unless she can serve faithfully, promptly, intelligently, and is willing to stand by the re suits of her individual action. I believe that women should have a moral responsibility regarding financial matters in the prompt payment of dues and pledges, and a comprehension that this work, like all others, cannot be carried on without money. I believe in the value of a minute, and th.it thievery of time on the part of one late member for those waiting is reprehensible. I believe that members should refrain from whispering during the meetings. I believe no woman should seek or use official position for self-ag-grandisement, <>r membership in the Union for stepping-stones only, but that she should utilise her opportunities for the altruisms of life. I believe the character and good name of each individual memlier should be sacredly guarded by all other members, as are those of tin* family, and that the use of dishonourable methods in our society will be the death-knell of pure, woman!v organisation. I believe the golden rule for White Ribboners should be, “Do right unto others, regardless of wh it others do unto you." —Mrs. Robert Burdette.
