TO THE CLERGY.

' At different clergy meetings which: I have been invited to attend, various subjects have come up for discussion, and I think it will help if I give the following directions. 1. Request that the Order of Confirmation be used exactly as it stands m the* Prayer Book. Hymns or addresses are quite appropriate but should come before or after the Service itself. The Priest who presents the candidates should call the names. 2. When conducing funeral by cremation the words "we.therefore commit to His care the mortal remains of His servant" should be used m place of those words m the Order for the Burial of the Dead "we therefore commit his body to the ground, etc." The remainder of the Committal to follow as m the Prayer Book Office. 3. For the benefit of those Clergy who may have any matter which they wish brought before the various Executives, which are due to meet m Wellington this, month, I append a list of the meetings, and request that I may have all such subject matter m writing not later than August 10th. Tuesday, 21st August — Board of Missions Executive, 9.30 a.m. ■» Bishops' meeting, 2. 30 p.m. 'Wednesday, 22nd. August — Board of Missions Annual Meeting,- 9.30 a.m. - Military Affairs Committee, 2.30 p.m. . . . Church Army, 4.30 p.m. Thursday, 23rd August — Standing Committee of General Synod, 9.30 a. . Pensions Board, 2.30 p.m. Friday, 24th August— - St. John's College Trustees, 9:30 a.m. • Public and Social Affairs, 2.30 p.m. Craig, Waiapu.
