Pakehas Convey Thanks To Bishop Of Aotearoa
/'■ Thanks for the help given them by the Bishop of Aotearoa during the absence of the Bishop of the Diocese on active service were expressed at Synod by the pakeha clergy and laity. The Rev. S; R. Gardiner said that Bishop Bennett was willing, at all
"times to visit, the pakeha parishes and parochial districts to take the place of the Bishop of the Diocese. The pakeha people were most grateful for all his good work and deeply regretted his illness, from which all would join m wishing him a speedy recovery. Extra burdens m addition to his own work he bore cheerfully. The Rev. W. T. Drake said that the natural graciousness of Bishop Bennett had made him much beloved by all sections of the community. His splendid work was. greatly appre ciated. His devotion was an example to all. It will cheer the Bishop to know how much the pakehas, as well as his own people, has appreciated his ser- ' vices, said Archdeacon J. B. Brocklehurst. ; '
