ROTORUA.

Gisborne has had a Procession of Witness for many years — every year since Canon Hall has been vicar. Botorua has had a Procession of Witr ness for the past five years, since the present vicar has been m Rotorua. Yet, to judge by the front page of the April Gazette, this seems to be unknown.

Although there is still much room for improvement, the past Lent, Holy Week and Easter have been better observed than for many years past. Lavs Deo. This applies especially to Holy Week and Good Friday, when there was a very fine atmosphere ■observable. The Procession of Wit^ ness was well supported, and the service following was a most helpful one, when the Choir sang "The Story of the Cross" and the Rev. K. T. Harawira gave a very helpful address, straight from the shoulder and to the point.

The Church was most beautifully decorated by a willing and competent band for Easter Day and there was a record number of Communions made on that day.

Lady Day, the Mothers' Union Day, was observed as a Quiet Time. Besides the 7 a.m. celebration, there was Corporate Communion for M.U. members at 10.15, followed by morn ling tea, after which we had a short service and meditation; then lunch and another service and second address, the whole ending at 2.30, when the ladies had a most enjoyable garden party at the home of the Rev. E. A. McCutcheon.
