In the fields of Educa^tonf Economics,. . and 1 International -^Diplomacy the leaders of thought and of action are frequently confronted by the need of making difficult decisions between conflicting courses of action. And the choice made by each individual public man will inevitably be influenced by both his own personal philosophy of life, and also by the outlook of the population which he represents. The£ Christian philosophy of life acknowledges the creative purpose of Almighty God as supreme throughout the external universe, and also the inner thoughts and feelings of men. Believers can tolerate no scheme for the disposition of human affairs which is calculated t6^|ehy^ the existence of a divine plaii'-w ignore^^tne^. import* ance thereof.
Inevitably therefore does the Church find herself m conflict with those modern totalitarian states, no matter how efficiently organised, whose ultimate objectives are confined to the purely earthly triumphs of a dominant class, race, nation, or even world order.
