A WORTHY EXAMPLE.

"On Nauru I had the unhappy responsibility of refusing to accede to the request of a body of Nauruans who desired to join the Church of England. I found that the desire originated with a dissension among the adherents of the London Mission due almost wholly to the influence of one man. The grounds for the dissension becoming a permanent one seemed to me so apparently inadequate that I felt it incumbent upon me to do my utmost to prevail on them to seek to heal the breach and work together m union and concord." The above extract is from the Bishop of Polynesia's letter m the November issue of his Church Gazette. The Bishop, if he does not "compass heaven and earth" m his wanderings, certainly does compass a goodly portion of earth and sea. It is pleasing to note that he will not "make one proselyte" by taking advantage of a vexatious, and, we trust, a temporary disaffection. If all churches acted similarly there would be less cause for complaint.
