Sir. — Park Vale is a rapidly increasing suburb of Hastings. We have there a small but growing congregation m every way encouraging and financially independent. The Standing Committee have m trust from the Havelock Parish a sum of money for the purchase of a Church site, and are allowing us the use of it, and there has been chosen a most suitable section, half-way between the Havelock and Hastings Churches. On this section there is an old but substantial building, which for some years we have rented, and which with sufficient expenditure upon it, will fulfil all our requirements for some years. The owner of this property, a zealous churchman, is selling it to us at a price. Which almost gives the building as a present. On November 3rd, by consent of the Vestry, there is to be a "Retireing Collection," and from the Havelock Vestry and parishioners we anticipate further assistance. I am writing this m the hope that readers of your paper, who are interested m Hastings, or are friends of mine, will further give us help. The expenditure will necessarily he heavy, yet so necessary that I am emboldened to make this apcpal, j am, etc. ? j, Horn
