THE PIECE OF IRON CALLED MAGNET
By Sal Terrae. I gave unto my first born a Piece of Iron shaped like unto the letter IT ; ami 1 said unto him : "My son what hast thou m thine hand?" And he answered arid said unto we: "Father, it is a Piece of Iron." Then said 1 unto him : "My son. truly thou hast the Discernment of Doctor Horrea of Brummagem'" And
I said, unio him : "Though m thy ehiV hood ihou dost call this (thing) a Piece of Iron, yet verily I say unto thee: When thou art a MAN thou shalt call it a Magnet." And I *.old my son these two properties of a Magnet: First, that it hath the Power to Attract all TRUE STEEL unto itself; flncond, that it hath the Power to-' Impart a Jiike Powe!r-of- Attraction to other Pieces of TRUE STEEL. Then because my son hath Faith m His Father, he went Out and Searched; and haying found a Piece of Cast Iron he Applied the Piece of Iron. to it. But seeing that the Cast Iron did not Enter into Communion he did cast it, away, seying : "Thou are not a Piece nf-TR-UE STEEL P' After which he Into his Father's House aud found One Small Needle/ .and much joy. Wherefore 1 h& doth no longer call that (piece of iron) a Piece of Iron hut His Magnet; and moreover he bebelieveth that he hath left .much of his Childhood behind him. '■'■'
