Te Karaka.

Vicar: Rev. H. Collier. (Notes written by late Vicar). The closing weeks of one's ministry in this parochial district have been undoubtedly the best weeks of the three years we have spent here. Nothing could exceed the kindness of everyone to us all. The Rev. G. D. Wilson and Mrs Wilson desire to express their de«p gratitude to all their friends for their kindnesses, too many and too personal, in many cases, to be detailed. ' The Holy Week services were not well attended, just a few faithful souls every day, but we are thankful to say the attendance at the Good Friday services was much better than we have ever known it before. The Easter services were splendid,, very nearly as good as we could wish, i^lem to 'be, though there were some we missed. The three celebrations of Holy Communion at 7.30, 8.30, and 10.30 were well attended, the earlier , services especially. The number of Communicants has, so far as the parish records show, only once been exceeded. At Evensong on Easter Day St. John's Church was crowded. xWe thank God for_jjaose services, On Vfche first'Sunday after Easter too, the flaet Sunday we spent in Te Karaka, '"V: services were such as to delight any man's heart. The Vicar was j very deeply touched by the many unI affected tributes, he has received of I the people's 'affection and esteem. •

The farewell social on July 31st was generally admitted to be one of the best socials ever held in Te Karaka—to our thinking nothing could have been more enjoyable. The Rev. G-. D. and Mrs Wilson, and Miss E. Wilson, desire to thank alLthose who gave them such beautiful, useful and costly presents.' We leave Te Karaka with the happiest recollections of our, last_ few weeks. ■•.-•■ The Vicar desires to thank all those who have helped in the church work during the past three years, and es"-~ pecially Miss Seamons, the organist at St. John's. Church, and Miss V. Stevenson, and Miss H. Pickett, Sunday School teachers, for their most regular and devoted work,. • We sincerely wish the Rev. H. Collier many years of joyful work in Te Karaka.
