Acting Vicar: Rev. H. A. McCutcheon. Native Work: Rev. W. Tureia Puhal , Lay Header : Dr. Weeks. ■■ The Lenten Services were oh. the whole well attended. Almost marked improvement is seen m the attendance at the War Intercession Service on Fridays at 7.30 p.m. But we shall not be content until we see as many at this service as at Sunday Evensong. • The Solemn Three Hours' Devotional Service on Good Friday will not easily be forgotten. It was just splendid to find so many prepared to come and keep watch at the Cross of Jesus and leirn something !of the real nature and v significance of the sufferings of our Lord, •■:',.-:'

Evensong,

The quiet heart-searching preparation Bervice on JEaster Eve— in the, ohurch air ready prepared for the great Easter festival —was a solemn time, when we all felt as m the presence of God, from Whom no secrets . are hid, and thus were we made ready to meet our Lord at the altar on Easter Day. Surplices and altar linen were kindly prepared by members of the congregation. : Another member, to whom we are most' grateful, made and presented a set of white altar curtains, and when the willing band of workers, with their splendid supply of greenery and white flowers, had completed their work of decoration m honour of the great Easter triumph, there was but one opinion ! " Isn't it beautiful ! " And there can be no doubt that such tasteful decoration greatly helped to make the Easter Services blessed and joyous. Bright, helpful Easter Services were also held at Takapau and at Mangatokerau. All were well attended.
