S. Augustine's, Napier.

Vicar : Reo. Eric D. Rice, M.A. Lay Curate : Mr H. J. Winstone.

The Confirmation is fixed for Wednesday evemng, December 6th, and classes are m progress. The prayers of parishioners are requested for the candidates, that they may be prepared m heart and mind for the great gi-'t. The Boy Scoiuts, under our energetic and capable , Scoutmaster Bonishae, have been very busy. First they gave a very creditable display of their work to parents, and then after much preparation, on October

25th, their first anniversary concert was given and was a huge success. The ■ Schoolroom, with specially enlarged seating aicconrmodation', was crowded to the doors, and the funds for the boys' summer camp have besn much increased. Promotions include Assistarit-Sco i u | tmast'::<r Gray to be Scjutmaster, and Sergeants F. Kerr and S. Nelson to be Assis-tant-Scoutmasters. In response to the Church's call to prayer, two prayer circles have been formed m the parish, and we hop© to form several more. Part of the regular meetings of the G.F.S. and C.EI.M.S.- now taikes the form of a prayer meeting. The C.E.M.S. has organised a meeting im, November to which all are invited, and at which the Rev. John Jlobbs will give a " Christian Talk on the War." A Communicants' Guild has been formed. It will aim simply at deepening the spiritual life of the members, and so of the parish.; We hope it will soon include all communicants, and especially all Church workers.'
