Girls' Friendly Society.

INTERCESSIONAI, SERVICES. The Central Council in England has fixed June 17th as the date for the Special Thanksgiving for the blessing that has rested upon the G.F.S., and for Intercession for its work. It is hoped that all Branches will make special remembrances of the Society on that day or on the following Sunday. In Napier services will be held on Thursday, June 17th, at the Cathedral, as follows : — ■ ' v - Holy Communion at 7 a.m. and 11 a.m.

The Festival Intercession Service at 7.30 p.m., when the Bishop will preach. Holv Co'mmunion at S. Augustine's 7 a.m. A lady is wanted as matron for the G.F.S. Lodge. Applications should "be sent in before June 10th to Miss Edith Williams, Taumata, Clyde Road, Napier. THE G.F.S. LODGE. It is with a feeling of deep thankfulness that we are able to report that the energy expended in collecting funds for the Lodge by many willing workers has borne such good fruit that there is every probability of its being opened next month free of debt. When about £7.50 was still wanting, Mrs T. H. Lowry promised £350 if the other £400 were raised by the end of May, and towards this end so much has been promised that we can look upon the gift as secure. But although we may consider the building as paid for, there is still the furnishing and fitting to be done, and it would be a great boon if we could start the institution with a well-filled larder and some money in hand to carrv it through the timie which must elapse before it can pay its own expenses. Towards this, further donations are solicited and will be thankfully received b'v Miss Edith Williams, Taumata, Napier.
