Jerusalem and the East Mission.
On Good Friday we pray, m one of the Collects for the Day, that God will have mercy on all Jews, and take from them all ignorance, hardness of heart, and contempt of His Holy Word. How many of us really take any practical interest iv the conversion oi the Jews ? We commiend to the faithful the Mission of our Church working for this end under Bishop Blyth. The Bishop asks for help to carry on the following work with a staff of 66 workers, of whom 15 are m Priests' Orders, and two are Doc-, tors :—..'. 1. Jerusalem. — St. George's College, the headquarters of the Mission, containing, the Bishop's house, the clergy house, and S. George's Collegiate Church, consecrated m 1898 and 1910. Connected with the College are : (a) S. George's choir, and day school. (b) S. Mary's home, with orphanage, freeday school, and women's classes, (c) S. Helen's Medical Mission 'a.nd nursing " home, with 'doctor, ' three nurses, and a dispenser. (President,
H.R.H. the Princess Christian of Schleswig-Holstein. )' 2. Haifa.— S. Luke's Church, consecrated m 1899. (a) Free hospital and dispensary, with one doctor, one dispenser, and three nurses, (b) Boys' school. (c} Girls' school, (d) A successor wanted for Deaconess M. Allen's late work amongst Jewesses. 3. Beyrout and District.—Chaplaincy and Mission, 13 out-stations. 4. Cairo. —S. Maryjs Church, opened for service m 1908. (a) Boys' school. (b) Girls' school (temporarily closed). si. Cyprus. — Chaplaincies. 6. Egypt.— Port Said and Suez, aided chaplaincies. If collections are made at Good Friday services, might they not well be devoted to the work of this Mission ? Donations or collections will be received by the Diocesan Secretary, Tennyson street, Napier, and will be duly acknowledged by him. '
