Weber.
Vicar : Bey. F. W. Whibky. The Key. .). McNicUle has kindly consented to assist at an opening service for the oil wells at WaipatiKi, four miles from Weber. The manager, Mr. Taylor, has been good enougn to give permission to use the boarding-house for the services, which, after this commencement, we hope to conduct regularly. There maj r soon be a large number of men on the fields. Two derricks are already working, and if they are fortunate enough to " strike ile," there will soon be a rush. We are using the organ Mrs. Holt-Thonipson, of Napier, generously gave for the use of back-block services. The Weber Church AVool Fund, will, it is hoped, be greater than the jrevious three year's. This year we are trying to help the Church Army (who receive one-third of fund) m another way, i.e., by taking some of the emigrants trained m their Rescue Homes. We have sent Home £.42, being a donation, of £6 towards passage money from 7 people who have ordered servants — 5 girls and 2 boys. Prebendary Carlile has been asked to suggest arrangements by which we can receive fronv him 20 servants annually for the subscribers to the fund m our Diocese. The Army has sent thousands to Canada, and less Lhan 1 per cent, have been moral failures, showing the results of their Christian training. BAPTISMS. Charles Ivan Herbert. Isabella Simmons.
