It will consist of a short devotional service and intercession for the Parish generally, and for the schools particularly, followed by preparation of lessons for the following . giving this matter their earnest consideration, and a small committee has been appointed to consider ways and means, to report progress to the Vestry, and to raise funds by direct subscription. Several promises of funds for this purpose have already been received. A Men's Working Party is already busy renovating and improving the Church buildings and grounds, and good work is being done. The Ladies' G-uild have done most valuable work for the Church of Christ m the past, and their energy and enthusiasm is unabating. There is a substantial sum at present m hand, and the Vestry has asked the Guild to hold this sum until the most profitable way of employing it can be found. To stimulate work m Parochical matters and m the work of the Church at large, the acting Vioar desires to encourage the circulation of the " Waiapu Church Gazette " m Tauranga and country districts. The subscription 'is 2s. 6d. per annum for the " Gazette," posted monthly direct from Napier to the subscriber. The acting Vicar will be glad to receive subscriptions paid m advance and forward them on to the Editor. Tauranga is already by far the largest town m the Bay of Plenty, and the Parish must look forward to becoming the centre and stronghold of the Church m this district. There is here a vast field for work m the service of God, and the whole district looks to Tauranga to take the lead for the Glory of God and the advancement of His Kingdom. It is a great call to a noble work, but if such success is to be attained, every man, woman, and child must put faia or her shoulder to the wheel worth 1 devotion, vigour, and determination!, that the cause of God and His Holy Church may go forward steadily and unfailingly. Let us be content with nothing less than the utmost and the best that we can do, and let us, jmove always m strong conviction that the Lord of our salvation is with us, the God of Hosts our strength.
