Weber.
Vicar : Rev. F. W. Whibky. The Rev. G. K. Nicholas came to Waitahora with four of the chqir boys, to conduct a Harvest Festival on May 9 th, as our Vicar was assisting at WoocLville. I hear that the help the Rev. J. McNick,le sent was much appreciated by the Waitohora congregation. The Vicar announced a Harvest Festival for May 2nd at Weber, but the weather did not allow it. The Vestry ha§ erected a nicelooking picket fence m front of the Vicarage section, painted white. Other improvements are to be made as soon as everything is paid 'for; both for Church and Vicarage. The Rev. F. E. Telling Simcqx paid a visit to our district this month. Many of his old parisioners reside m the Weber district, and are always pleased when he shows his face among them. This was a particularly happy occasion, as he came to marry a young lady that he had known all her life. The large draw-ing-room at Pine G-rove was filled with friends, invited by Dr. and Mrs. Riddell to witness their daughter's marriage. . Things are going on very comfortably m ' our district, if not there
would have been " oil to cast o'er the troubled waters," as the Kotuku Oil Company are pretty sanguine they will " strike lie "' about six miles from Weber. Our population has been .decreasing m consequence of the many sales of land to neighbours, but we are hoping the tide will soon turn. BAPTISMS. Doris Margaret Cotler. AiJsa Jessie McPhee.
