Vicar : Rev, L. Dawson Tli&mts, Suburban Church Advance. — The rising suburb of Kaiti is soon to have a commodious Church Hall. We have had a gift of a splendid site, over an acre m extent, ..near the centre of population. _ This will be ample for a Schoolroom, Church, and Vicarage. At. present we are arranging to build a hall which will be used for services . and Sunday School on Sundays and for social purposes on weekdays. It is hoped that the building may be up and m use m the late winter. -" The Church Hall at Mahgapapa has, ever since its erection, been a centre of enthusiasm; ' The Committee and Church Guild there are as keen a body of people as.. we have ever met. Nothing is too great to be undertaken. At the express wish of the people the Vicar has agreed .to hold a regular morning service there on. Sundays. . .The congregations, both at Kaiti and Mangapapa are good. •■'•.• •:■•-; •: Assistant Curate.— We have so far heard nothing from our Bishop concerning the young clergyman Who wishes to come out from England to act as assistant Curate. We have little doubt, however, that ■ the Bishop h^s found him suitable, and, spoil' we hope to hear of hi<? haying left for New Zealand. There is ample scope here for two or three more assistant nriests. The whole parish is ripe for a bie: move forward. Tt will mean moriev, but this district is prosperous and generally wealthy.
