Tolago Bay.

Vicar: Rev. Q. W. Davidson. We have to record two most important events m the Parish. The first — a sad one for us all — Mr. Dudley Trent's removal to Tokomaru Bay. Mr. Trent has been extremely self-sacrificing, and done a deal of work for Christ and His Church this last nine months, and has our warmest thanks. The Vicar, on behalf of Parishioners generally, presented him with a small parting gift m the shape of a Prayer and Hymn Book, with music, beautifully bound. We are glad to hear that already Mr. Trent has entered into the Master's service m the Tokomaru Bay Parish, where we wish him " Grood luck m the Name of the Lord." The greatest good news is the gift of a quarter-acre section for our proposed Church. Mrs. Harris, of Gisborne, is the happy giver, and we thank her most heartily. The Vicar h ipes to call and see Mr. and Mrs. Harris some time m November. The section is very well situated for the Church, and the Church officers are trying to acquire the next section to it for a Sunday school m the far-off future. During November the Vicar has been right away back and almost, if not quite " poaching " on the preserves of the Revs. Ward and Meyer, and hopes they will not. mind this great expense of energy from Tolago Bay. Our sympathy is extended to Mr. and Mrs. Parkes, who suffered so sadly m the very sad tragedy m October. Subscribers are reminded that the Vicar has paid their subscriptions,- those who have paid and those who have not, some for last and some for this year.
