Vicar : Reo. W. H. Bawden. The Easter Services were well attended, despite the fact that it was the wettest Sunday experienced for a long time past. Numbers of Parish i oners resident m the country parts were therefore unable to o.irry out their intention of being present at the Festival Services. Nevertheless, it was gratifying to see, suoh a comparatively large number of Communicauts, the male attendance being quite a marked feature. The deoorations undertaken by the Ladies' Guild and others were chaste and artistic. Harvest Thanksgiving Services were held the following Sunday and, the day being clear and fine, were numerously attended, numbers who had missed their Easter Communion participating m the celebration. The Church was again appropriately decorated for the occasion m an effective manner, God's good gifts of corn and fruit and flowers being judiciously represented. The character of the services was hearty. During the week followiug a sale of harvest gifts and of needlework, &c, was held m the Parish Hall m aid of the Church Restoration Fund. The result was satisfactory, and the thanks of the Vicar and Vestry are due to those who interested themselves m the function and brought it to a successful issue. Mr. George R. Joblin, an aged Parishioner, died suddenly of heart failure last week. Much sympathy is felt for Miss .Joblin, one of our valued Church members and workers), iv her bereavement. Mr. Joblin was a remarkable man, of vigorous mind and body, retaining his faculties unimpaired until his death at the age of 91. As recently as a year ago he was quite a familiar figure on horseback. There is at present a considerable amount of sickness among Parishioner.*, for which the influenza epidemic is mainly responsible.
