THANKSGIVING. 0 Lord, and heavenly Father, we most heartily thank Thee for the unspeakable mercy which we commemorate at this time m the gift of the Holy Ghost the Comforter, by whose blessed assistance we can alone render unto Thee acceptable service. May He sanctify our hearts, and enlighten our understandings. May oar bodies be meet temples for His indwelling presence. And may we never quench the Spirit, nor resist His holy influence ; but do Thou, 0 Lord, sanctify us wholly, that our whole spirit and soul and body may be preserved blameless unto the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ ; through the same, our only Mediator and Redeemer. Amen. 0 Most Holy Trinity, m the overflowing abundance of Thy love sending forth the Holy Ghost the Comforter, to create and form Thy Church, the mystical Body of Christ : gmnt to us to be ever fervent m the Unity of the Spirit, that always abiding m Thy worship and service, we may grow more and more steadfast m Faith, Hope and Charity; more and more patient and active m all good works, to the honour and glory of Thy name, through Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen . Blessed Spirit, Lord of Light, increase m our souls, we bespech Thee, the spirit of understanding ; raise and illuminate our faculties to apprehend the Divine Nature and its operations, that our hearts being enlarged, as the mystery of the adorable Trinity unfolds to our view, we may love even as we have have been loved; Reveal day by day to us, 0 Lord, this knowledge, far which alone we thirst,

teaching us all that Thy love demands, and the ways m which Thou will be glorilied, that casting away all that hinders us, we may be knit eternally to Thee, and finally be made partakers of Thy Jieatitude. Amen.

Blessed Spirit, Almighty God, forgive, we beseech Thee our waywardness, and blindness of heart, aud bestow on us the Spirit of counsel. In perplexities and difficulties, be Thou our Light, teaching us to discern the evil from the good, diieetiog us that our footsteps slip not. Instruct us m the ways of holiness, by mortification to overcome our sins, by obedience to subdue our selfishness, by spiritual discipline to sanctify our thoughts, words and actions, that ever going on to perfection, wo may attain unto the fellowship of Thy saints m bliss. Amen.
