CHRISTCHURCH.

Senior Cadets. — Following upon the conferring of authority by the Government to form companies of Senior Cadets, the Bishop called a meeting of the Clergy and subsequently a meeting of O.E.M.S. to consider the question. A committee of four clergymen and five laymen was elected and is going into the matter. Several of the clergy are already taking steps to form either a full company (120) or a section m their parishes. We all feel it is a great opportunity. Perhaps some day we shall have corps of territorials made up of the younger members of the C.E.M.S. Boy Scouts. — This movement is spreading and is likely to spread. Tercentenary. — The Cathedral was well filled on the occasion of the Combined Service. The Service was conducted by Rev. Canon Carrington, and the speakers were ministers representative of the Presbyterian, Congregational, and Wesleyan bodies. The Bishop was present and pronounced the Benediction ; but though advertised to speak, his Lordship thought it wiser not to do so by reason of the lateness of the hour when it was his turn.
