Election of Officers For 1875.—President—J. S. Webb; Vice-Presidents—J. T. Thomson, F.R.G.S., P. Thomson; Council—Professor Millen Coughtrey, Dr. Hocken, A. Bathgate, H. Skey, D. Brent, G. M. Thomson, and J. M'Kerrow; Hon. Treasurer—R. Gillies; Hon. Secretary—Captain F. W. Hutton, F.G.S. In proposing Mr. Webb as President, Mr. Gillies said he would propose a gentleman who had been connected with the Institute from the commencement, and who, more than anyone else, had claim to the title of founder. He alluded to Mr. J. S. Webb, a gentleman who should in fact have been already elected to that position.
