The high price of fuel is causing owners to look more carefully into their consumption figures, as a few more miles per gallon now makes quite an appreciable difference in the cost of fuel per annum. Moreover, within limits, the greater the economy, the greater the efficiency, for too rich a mixture is not so efficient as the correct one, having a larger proportion of air. It is possible, of course, lo obtain so economical or weak a mixture that the engine will only run satisfactorily under certain conditions, and generally this also has to be avoided.
