The Public Works Department have authorised the following amounts being spent by the Southland County Council:—Tisbury to Waimatua railway station, £324 17s. 4d.; Makarewa outfall drain, £100; Forest Hill Hundred (section 230) to Hodge’s Gully road, £100; Chisholm’s road, Springhills, £150; and Waikaia Bush track, £SO. The amounts outstanding on County Council contracts up to March 31 were on those of the County Fund, £10,599 7s. Id., and Government, £5193 12s. The number of contracts not completed was 87.
