"Gladys" Motor Boat.

Mr. C. Court's boat, designed and built by Bailey and Lowe, was launched on Aug. 4th. The building is diagonal, with two skins, and torpedo stern. She has al6 h.p. Standard engine, forward; her cabin (9 feet) is aft, pannelled throughout, and all the bunks, fitted with Utrecht velvet

cushions, are finished in white and gold. Her sleeping accommodation is for four in the cabin and five forward of the engine. The cockpit is spacious and roomy, fitted with seats all round, lockers underneath, and

large locker aft. Electric lights of handsome design are fitted throughout. Ventilation is supplied by a number of brass port scuttles; teak skylights are over the cabin, and there is a scuttle over the engine room. The hull is painted white, with black top stroke and gold streak let in. The deck is salmon, the cabin top green, and the sides grained and varnished. Her speed is Sy 2 knots. is. Messrs. Bailey & Lowe have on hand the following works : — A 32ft. tuck stern launch for J. Vigor Brown, of Napier. The boat is already planked and timbered, and has very strong but graceful lines. She should prove very speedy and a good sea boat. A 38ft. tuck stern launch for Mr. Thomas, of Henderson Creek; Hearing completion. Also in frame, a 35ft. county stern launch for Mr. C. Roose. of Mercer, and 90ft. schooner for local syndicate; work being pushed ahead.
