Mr. Andrew's House, Khandallah.

The illustrations of the residence recently erected at Khandallah for Mr. S. P. An drew, demonstrate the fact that an artistic dwelling need not necessarily be costly. The exterior of the building is finished in rough cast, and this, with the leaded casement windows, gives a picturesque appearance. The dwelling contains five rooms, the living rooms being 20ft. x 15ft. , with a dining recess 10 x 10, the beamed ceiling adding greatly to the artistic effect. Asbestos roofing slates, electric light throughout, and a hot water service, combine to make the house comfortable and up-to-date. Messrs. Benge and Collie were the contractors for the work, which was carried out at a total cost of £463. The plans and specifications were drawn by Messrs. Hoggard and Prouse, architects, of Wellington.
