Tliis residence is to be erected near Wellington on a site having an unobstmctcd view on three sides. The ground floor is taken np by the leception hall, dining and drawing-rooms, bdliard100m, and smoke-room, as well as the kitchen with its conveniences, snch as a well-arranged pantry, scullery, servery, etc. A convenient lavatory is also provided on this floor, having tiled floor and walls, and will be fitted up in the most up-to-date manner The reception hall is an apartment 27ft. long by 14ft. wide, and is entered through a glassedin vestibule. On one side is a large old-fash-ioned open-hearth fireplace, and at the far end the main stairs ascend to the upper floor through the centre one of three arches, which span the hall The billiard-room, which is 25ft. by 19ft., and the diawing-room, 23ft. by 16ft., both have doors opening into a fine large conservatory. The dining-room is about the same size as the drawing-room, and will have a

fine view out to the open sea. The smokeroom, or den, is 18ft. by 14ft. All of these rooms, as well as the principal bed-rooms, have either oriel or bay windows, and will he finished mside with picked heart red pme high wall panelling. The appearance and comfort will be still moie increased by such additions as wide open fireplaces, arches across recesses, etc.

The upper floor is divided of? into seven bedrooms, three bathrooms, and lavatories, etc., and a large central hall. All the bedrooms (except two, which, with one bath-room are in the servants' wing), open off the hall, thereby avoiding dark and nanow passages. The servants' wing is piovided with a separate stair-case. This residence is to be built of brick and concrete, with white rough-cast external walls and tiled roof. Architect, J. M. Dawson.
