Tinning Surfaces.
Articles of brass or copper boiled in a solution c f stannate of potassa, mixed with turnings or scraps of tin in a few moments become covered with a firmly attached layer of fine tin. A similar effect is produced by boiling the articles with tin turnings or scraps and caustic alkali, or cream of tartar. In either way, articles made of copper or brass may be easily and perfectly tinned.
Use turpentine, instead of oil, when drilling hard steel, saw plate, etc. It will drill readily when \ou could not touch it with oil.
