FORGERY.

$3,500 REWARD. Oscar Walter (Ossip Ivanovich Walter) was a broker in Moscow, Russia, and left there about the 14th of November, 1875, with a Russiau passport signed by the Governor-General of Mescow, bearing date of September the 2nd, 1875 (Russian calendar). After his departure it was ascertained that he had committed forgeries to the amount of over 300,000 roubles, thereby victimising several banks and individvals in the Empire of Russia. He is supposed to be now in the American Continent. Description—About thirtyfive years of age, above the medium height, walks erect, is of rather pale complexion, high forehead, hair brushed back and thin on top of head, grey eyes, large nose, wore moustache and beard clipped short, but on leaving Moscow had only a moustache, which was tinged with grey on one side, dresses neatly, is Russian by birth, but probably speaks fluently German, French, and other languages. A reward of $3,500 will be paid for the arrest and detention (until seen by the undersigned) of the said Walter, and information of said arrest must be forwarded at once by telegram to Davies’ Detective Agency, 17 and 19, William-street, New York, United States, America; or office of Consul-General of the Russian Empire, 50 and 52, Exchange Place, New York, U.S.A. ; or Blatchford, Seward, Griswold, and Da Costa, solicitors, 29, Nassau-street, New York, U.S.A. ; or advertising agency of Hern Rudolph Mosse, Berlin (S.W.), Germany.
