(From Police Gazette, 24 th February, 1874.) John Delaney is charged on warrant with embezzling the sum of £l4 15s. 6d. from Andrew Murray, of (39, Queen-street, Melbourne, on the 2nd December, 1873. Description : Victorian, of Irish parents, a clerk, 19 or 20 years of age, 5 feet 10 inches high, thin build,- pale complexion, sickly appearance (has been ailing recently), dark brown or black hair, slight black moustache, high cheek bones, straight nose, dark eyes, wears a suit of light tweed and deerstalker hat. Is supposed to be endeavouring to get to New Zealand.

George Williams is charged on warrant with stealing 12 hcaifl of cattle from Thomas Harrison, of Bangholme, Dandenong, on the 27th January, 1874. Description : 30 to 35 years of age, 5 feet 10 inches high, large brown eyes, wavy hair of dark colour, black whiskers and moustache, slender build, complexion like a half-caste, does not shave. (See Police Gazette , 31st October, 1873, page 264, miscellaneous.) Offender sold the cattle in Melbourne on the 29th January, gave his name as James Howden, and stated he lived in the Plenty district, to which place he was returning same day. It is supposed, however, that he will endeavour to get to New Zealand.

MISSING FBIEND

Information is required respecting Alfred Walmsley r , who is supposed to have assumed the name “ Alfred Gordon,” and to have sailed from Glasgow' or Liverpool for Australia or New Zealand, about the 23rd October, 1873. Description : 24 years of age, 0 feet high, slight whiskers and moustache, brown and wavy hair, prominent nose, figure erect, wore gold signet ring, with red stone and crest, “lion crowned,” and dresses in yachting dross and cap. His father resides at Brettlands, near Tunbridge Wells, Kent, to whom information is to be given.

And 121 fox* drunkenness, 8 for lunacy, 2 for disorderly conduct, 1 for disobeying a summons, and 1 for contempt of court.
