Property Stolen.
A man of the following description is charged with stealing on the 22nd ultimo, at Waikaka, a pair oftrousers (since recovered) the property of Thomas Hunter. Stolen, between the 17th ultimo and 4th instant, from the yard of Josiah Tutche::, JMornington, twelve pieces of sawn timber, 4 x 2, 16 feet long; fifteen pieces, 4x2, 10 feet long; seventeen pieces 4xl, 17 feet long ; five pieces 4 x If, 17 feet long ; and a quantity of flooring and weatherboards; value £lO. identifiable.
Stolen, on the 13th instant, from the shop-door of Francis Elliott, Rattray street, Dunedin, a net containing about 201bs of onions. Value ss. Identifiable.
Stolen on the sth instant, from the dwelling of William Dalrymple, Port Chalmers, a small meat mincing machine,' about 8 inches long and 4 inches in diameter. Value £.
Stolen on the 4th instant, from the person of Thos. Fowler, on board the steamer Golden Age, between Dunedin and Port Chalmers, a white cotton pockethandkerchief, containing £35 in sovereigns and halfsovereigns. Pocket-handkerchief identifiable. Suspicion attached to Margaret Stewart, a barmaid, who left Port Chalmers on the day of the theft for Melbourne, by the steamer Bangitoto.
Stolen on the 4th instant, from the premises of William Tapping, Hampden, a new American axe,, medium size, edge slightly blunted. Value 9s.
Stolen between the 4th and 6th instant, from the hotel of Franz Julius, Tokomairiro, one pair of goldmounted greenstone earrings, sugarloaf shape, about one inch long, one pair of gold eardrops, round pattern, cameo stone in centre, small gold drop suspended from bottom, one gold-mounted cameo brooch, oval shape, about one inch in length, one gold brooch with leaf figuring round edges, blue ribbon in centre covered with glass, about 14 inches long, one gold cross about 1 i inches long, with gold leaf on each arm, and imitation bunch of grapes on main stem, short gold necklet, serpent pattern, attached, and one gold keeper ring. Value £l4. Identifiable.
Stolen between the Ist and 12th instant, from an unoccupied house in Albany street, Dunedin, two pieces of floorcloth, 7 yards long each, by 3£ feet wide, and one piece of oilcloth, 4 by 3 feet wide, the property Jof John Reid. Value 16s. Identifiable.
Stolen about the 19th ultimo from the dwelling of George Aughanihy, Goodwood, one pair of Blucher boots, nearly new, one American claw hammer, one silver Albert chain, large and small link pattern, one towel and one sheath knife. Value 30s. Hammer identifiable.
Between the 26th ultimo, and Ist instant, a mare’ the property of William James, Waikouaiti, was maliciously wounded on the head and neck with small gunshot, while wandering between Waikouaiti and Flag Swamp.
Stolen on the night of the 18th instant, from the dwelling of the Rev. James Beard, Hampden, a large open-face gold lever watch with elaborate carved flowers on back of case, gold dial, black figures, No. 10584, gold Albert guard attached, small link pattern, a good deal worn. Value £23 10s. Identifiable.
Stolen on the 22nd ultimo from the bar of the hotel of William Edge, Waikaka, a half-sovereign and about 13s. in silver. 0
Stolen on the 7th instant from Watson’s Bush, fuapeka Mouth, a flour bag containing 61b of onions, 1 bar soap, 2 egg-cups, 3 tins jam, 1 china cup, 1 small looking-glass, 2 books, Highland Home’ and ‘ Maiden Aunt,’ a box hairpins, and one bodkin the property of John Drury. Value. 225. 6d. Identifiable.

Stolen on the .10th instant, from off Mrs f, and Campbell’s clothes-line, Melville street, Dim?,: two new pairs of girls’ cotton stockings, one r women’s cotton stockings, two flannel petticoats nearly new, a new piece sewn near the waistbaj the other. Value 10s. Identifiable.
On the night of the 3rd instant the shop 0 f £ Moore, Oamaru, was burglariously entered by b\ ing a square of glass in the window, and the fill, ing articles stolen therefrom : A japanned cash-!) 8 inches long and 4 inches wide, containing bi £2 7s. in silver, and 10 or 121 bof bacon. Cash! and bacon identifiable.
Stolen about the 20th of July last, from Campbe town, a vertical saw, 7 feet long by 9 inches tii placed between two boards of same length a breadth, the property of William Edgerton. y a £2 10s. Identifiable.
Stolen, between the 10th and 15th instant, fr the dwelling of John Algoe, Cardrona, a middle-si black morocco pocket-book, nearly new, contain two £5 notes and four £1 notes. Pocket-bi identifiable.
Stolen, on the 19th instant, from the person of Alfa Vernon, on board the steamer Maori, between Lyttelti and Timaru, a brown leather pocket book, 6x3 inch) with elastic band, containing one £lO note on the Bat of New Zealand, No. 1212 ; four £5 notes, Bank u known, Nos. 45, 43, 72 and 81; three £1 notes; bill for £250 on W. T. Turner, Christchurch, payab on the 7th October next. All identifiable, except tl three £1 notes. Suspicion attached to John Arnoli as he was in Vernon’s company when he got drunk an lost the pocket He is an Irishman, a laboure 33 years of age, 5 feet 8 inches high, stout build, fres complexion, fair hair, i eard, whiskers and moustach large head, round features, scar on forehead, wore dar billycock hat, dark tweed clothes, and lace-up boots.
