Extracts from Tasmanian Crime Report, 2nd September, 1864.
Information is requested respecting Margaret Jane Watkins , who left the service of Mr. Marshall, of Pittwater, about 3 months since. She was last heard of at the Bluff Ferry. At that time the ferryman states that she ran into the bush immediately after landing on the Cambridge side of the river. Description.—ls years old, 5 feet 2 inches high, black hair, blue eyes, fresh complexion, stout built. She is well known at Kangaroo Point, having supplied the inhabitants with milk.
Information is requested respecting Robert and William Cairns, of Knocknamuckley, Ireland, who emigrated to Hobart Town in 1849. In 1851) Robert was employed as ploughman to Mr. Cogle, of Huntsworth, Jericho. About three years ago they were working together as sawyers, at or about Green Ponds. Their mother, who is now' about 81 years old, is very anxious to hear of them. •
